Turangawaewae Inquiry Metacognition - The Power Of Reflection
- You created 3 pieces of art in class. Which one were you most proud of and why?
- I am most proud of my Korowai because of the colours that I used.
- You were asked to submit your very own/individual piece of art that represented you and something you were inspired by. Explain in more detail about this…
- After we had been on our AMAZING art tour, most of room 10 came back inspired by many pieces of art, so some of us started to plan our own pieces.
- You learnt some new skills during our term of art - cross hatching, colour composition, maori motifs, patterns and symmetry. Choose one and explain in more detail exactly what you learnt.
- I learnt a lot about Maori art. All our class artwork were using Maori motifs i.e. the koru in our ‘Ko Wai Au’ artworks, the ‘Heitiki’ and the ‘Korowai’. I was careful to use traditional maori colours on my ‘Korowai’ artwork.
- Our trip around Hawke’s Bay was to inspire us. Describe what your highlight was from this trip and why.
- The highlight for me was the weaving of different kinds of wool around pieces of wood in the MTG.
- If we carried out this Turangawaewae Inquiry topic again, what would you change/do differently?
- I would change my NZ wars slide and take a bit more care making it.
- Identify one person's artwork that you are impressed by. Explain why?
- I was impressed by Jordan’s Korowai because of the combination of different textures and colours that she used.
